I arrived this morning after a 14h 30min flight from Paris. Everything went smoothly, and I really enjoyed my flight to Santiago. Good food, great movie selection, and nice neighbours. The only minus was that the stewards forgot our row twice... ?!? Some got food, but none of us got anythng to drink, he went away and then he just completely forgot about the rest of us -.-
At the moment it's winter in Santiago, and the pollution is quite bad. I was very surprised when we landed, since I thought we were still pretty high up in the sky.. I couldn't see anything because of the fog! And I was shocked about how cold it actually is here. I knew it was going to be winter when I came, but I didn't realize it would be this cold.. 4 degrees in the morning, 10 degrees during day, and only one heater in the living room. But at least I have an electic heated matress to sleep on! My American roommate was sleeping with 2 blankets, t-shirt, hoodie and with pants on last night.. I guess he didn't know about the electric matress hehe.
I live with a hostfamily in an area called Providencia, 5 blocks away from Universidad Mayor. My hostmum is so cute and super talkative. She doesn't speak English, and she doesn't allow us to speak English either in the house. Here it is only Espanol! Most of the time I'm just guessing what she is talking about.. but somehow we still understand each other :) I will be living with an American and a German guy, and then I am pretty sure that a Mexican girl will come live with us too in July. (It took me half an hour to understand that a German guy was coming next week, and one more hour that an American guy was already here..)

Today me and Nicholas went to the Costanera Center complex. IT WAS HUGE!!! The skyscraper is the tallest building in South America, and it is a business and commercial complex that includes a 6 floor shopping mall. We just needed a few things from the mall, but it took hours to find and we walked so much. Luckily all the staff were so kind and helpful, or it would definitely have taken a lot more time.
For lunch Mama Vezy had made Charquican, a Chilean stew dish with minced meat, pumpkin, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, and topped with eggs. It was delicious!! Mama Vezy (Hostmum) is a chef, so I really look forward to try all her dishes.

Tomorrow I start my Spanish courses, so that will be very interesting.. But tomorrow Chile will also play against the Netherlands in the World Cup, and the Chileans will most likely go super crazy! Can't wait haha. And I will definitely take a lot more pictures of Santiago :)
